Jen Hoverstad: Cancer Survivor, Attorney, Super Mom

Jen Hoverstad

empowering perserverance through life’s challenges

One day you’re a seemingly healthy 34-year-old, going through the day-to-day in your dream job with your high school sweetheart and two kids by your side…

and the next week you’re diagnosed with an aggressive stage three breast cancer.

Hi, I’m Jen!

In 2018, I learned that life can simultaneously be scary, difficult, and beautiful. And maybe for you it’s not cancer, but it’s a relationship or a job or infertility or disability or [insert your own unchosen adventure].

Here’s what I need you to hear:

You are greater than your life’s challenges.

You can do this. And I hope the content on these pages serve as a digital hug from me to you.

Jen Hoverstad is a dynamic keynote speaker and workshop facilitator who will wow your audience with her energy and positivity as she uses her yearlong battle with cancer to inspire small changes that will make a big difference.

At 18 years old, Jen first stepped in front of a live camera as talent for UNC-TV, the statewide PBS affiliate for North Carolina. Since then, her love for live audiences has taken her on stages and inside classrooms large and small. She has facilitated panel conversations, interviewed well-known business leaders, led brainstorming sessions for non-profit leaders, and encourages the room with her words.

What they’re saying…

We invited Jen to speak at our monthly Community Connect breakfast because she has an inspiring story, and she’s well respected in the community! The feedback from our audience was overwhelmingly positive. They loved her energy and how easily they related to her. As the event planner, I loved her engagement with the audience!
This is the first event where we anonymously surveyed our attendees, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Participants reflected on how they can make a influence and were inspired by Jen’s challenge to seep influence into the simplest of every day occurrences.
— Chasta Hamilton, Owner/Artistic Director, Stage Door Dance Productions
Jen interacted well with the audience and during one-on-one interactions with our students. She has a great deal of passion in her message and that was evident during her presentation. She was well-prepared, well-spoken, and delivered an excellent message to our students.
— Dr. Robin Hardin, Professor, University of Tennessee
